Urban Company Stock Market Debut

Urban Company made a notable entrance into the stock market today, with shares listed at Rs 162.25 on the NSE, reflecting a 57.5% increase from its issue price of Rs 103. On the BSE, the initial listing rate was Rs 161.

IPO Details of Urban Company

The IPO for Urban Company was open for subscriptions from September 10 to 12, 2025, featuring a price range set between Rs 98 and Rs 103, with a minimum investment of Rs 14,935. Valued at Rs 1,900 crore, this IPO included a fresh issue of shares amounting to Rs 429 crore alongside an offer for sale (OFS) of Rs 1,471 crore.

Oversubscription Stats

As per the data available from the exchange, Urban Company’s IPO was oversubscribed by a remarkable 108.98 times. The demand breakdown showed that the retail segment was subscribed at 41.49x, QIBs (excluding anchors) at 147.35x, and NIIs at 77.82x.

Anchor Investment and Utilisation of Proceeds

During the IPO process, the company, headquartered in Gurugram, raised Rs 854 crore from anchor investors. The company plans to allocate the net proceeds from the fresh issue to various areas, including technology and cloud infrastructure (Rs 190 crore), lease payments (Rs 75 crore), and marketing (Rs 90 crore). Additional funds will be directed towards other general corporate purposes.

Current Trading Performance

Urban Company’s stock reached a peak value of Rs 179 per share in morning trading and, as of 11:10 AM, is trading at Rs 168.3. The total market capitalisation of the company stands at Rs 24,169.1 crore, approximately equivalent to $2.7 billion.

Financial Performance for Fiscal Year Ending March 2025

In the fiscal year concluding in March 2025, Urban Company experienced a 38% increase in operating revenue, reaching Rs 1,144 crore. Additionally, the company recorded a profit before tax (PBT) of Rs 28.5 crore for the same timeframe.
