Startup Venttup Raises $3 Million for B2B Manufacturing Expansion
Industries 5.0 startup Venttup has successfully secured $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round, spearheaded by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Unicorn India Ventures. The company was incubated at KSUM (Kerala Startup Mission). Previously, in September 2024, it also obtained seed funding from Unicorn India Ventures. The funds raised will be directed towards enhancing the engineering team, investing in advanced manufacturing facilities, and rapid prototyping infrastructure, while integrating AI to optimise B2B sourcing, supplier intelligence, and operational efficiency, as stated by Venttup in a press announcement.
Venttup was co-founded in 2022 by Sandeep Nair, M. Wasim Ankli, and Joseph Panakkal. As an engineering-first B2B manufacturing company, Venttup is dedicated to the indigenisation, localisation, and development of critical and precision components and subassemblies. Through its Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) model, Venttup offers comprehensive support to clients encompassing engineering design, specification standardisation, rapid prototyping, testing, validation, and contract manufacturing.
According to the Bengaluru-based company, its expertise includes precision machining, casting and forging, sheet metal fabrication, box builds, special purpose machines, industrial automation, robotics, and tech-enabled B2B sourcing. By blending in-house engineering with an extensive network of MSME manufacturing partners, Venttup caters to sectors like energy, data centres, mobility, defence, aerospace, and space applications.
Venttup is also establishing a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru to fortify its rapid prototyping and precision manufacturing proficiencies. This facility will support precision machining, turning, and sheet metal production for energy transition, defence, aerospace, and space applications, facilitating a smoother transition from component development and validation to readiness for production and mass manufacturing.
Since its last funding round, the company asserts that it has experienced fivefold growth, reaching Rs 10 crore in FY2025–26. Over the past year, Venttup has successfully integrated more than 15 blue-chip companies into its customer portfolio and has developed a business opportunity pipeline of approximately Rs 30 crore spanning new energy, mobility, and smart infrastructure.
Venttup’s strategy includes expansion across four key business verticals, which encompass energy transition & data centres, aerospace, defence & space systems, smart infrastructure & future mobility, and electronics, automation & smart manufacturing.
