DSM Fresh Foods Achieves Impressive Revenue Growth in FY27
DSM Fresh Foods, the parent entity of the omnichannel meat delivery and processed foods brand Zappfresh, has experienced a remarkable 58% increase in revenue from operations, reaching approximately Rs 74 crore during the first quarter of FY27, based on its provisional business update submitted to the stock exchanges. Following the acquisition of Meevaa Foods in the first week of July, the combined business now operates at an estimated pro forma quarterly revenue run rate of Rs 85 crore, which includes Meevaa’s contributions.
Factors Contributing to Growth
The surge in revenue can be attributed to various factors, including retail expansion, an extensive omnichannel distribution strategy, and heightened traction within its consumer and institutional segments. Throughout this quarter, DSM Fresh Foods onboarded over 70 enterprise customers across both domestic and export markets. In addition, the company widened its footprint in e-commerce, quick commerce, and modern retail channels, with deliveries through Blinkit starting in Mumbai.
Retail Expansion and New Outlets
Zappfresh increased its retail presence to nearly 200 co-branded outlets, exceeding its FY27 target of 150 outlets ahead of schedule. The firm’s plans for FY27 include further accelerating retail expansion with a focus on boosting its higher-margin B2C business.
Supply Chain Advancements
On the supply side, DSM Fresh Foods has welcomed 10 new sourcing partners and initiated the aggregation of 270 acres of land as part of its strategy for backward integration. The company now collaborates with over 1,700 seafood farmers within its sourcing ecosystem. To further enhance the long-term development of its aquaculture platform, it has also incorporated Varuna Aquatech Pvt Ltd.
International Growth and Market Expansion
On an international scale, DSM Fresh Foods has broadened its distribution network in the UK, Canada, and GCC markets, along with securing a distribution partner in Dubai. The company has reiterated its FY28 revenue guidance of Rs 600 crore, supported by retail expansion, the introduction of value-added products, and enhanced backward integration within its farm-to-fork model.
