CarTrade Financial Results Show Significant Growth in Q1 FY27
CarTrade, an automobile classifieds platform, reported substantial growth in its financial results for the first quarter of FY27. The company noted a year-on-year revenue increase of over 16%. Additionally, its profit rose by 21% to reach Rs 57 crore during this quarter.
According to the unaudited financial results published on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), CarTrade’s revenue from operations surged to Rs 201 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to Rs 173 crore in Q1 FY26.
Segment Performance
The Mumbai-based company operates in three primary segments: Consumer, Remarketing, and Classifieds. In Q1 FY27, the Consumer segment was the largest revenue generator, contributing Rs 78 crore. This was followed by Remarketing with Rs 67 crore and Classifieds, which generated Rs 62 crore, factoring in Rs 6.4 crore of intersegment eliminations.
Non-Operating Income
Aside from its operating income, CarTrade reported Rs 29 crore in non-operating income for the quarter, bringing the total income to Rs 230 crore in Q1 FY27 against Rs 199 crore in Q1 FY26.
Quarterly Comparison and Expenses
When compared on a quarterly basis, the operating revenue showed a slight decline from Rs 203 crore in the previous quarter, Q4 FY26. On the expenditure side, employee benefits remained the most significant expense, comprising nearly 55% of the overall costs. This expense rose from Rs 75 crore in Q1 FY26 to Rs 83 crore in Q1 FY27. Other expenses accounted for Rs 55 crore, while depreciation and finance costs were Rs 11 crore and Rs 3.2 crore, respectively.
The total expenditure for CarTrade increased by 7% to Rs 152 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 142 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Profit Insights
The growth in various operating segments, combined with a relatively controlled rise in expenses, contributed to a 21.3% increase in CarTrade’s profit to Rs 57 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 47 crore in Q1 FY26. However, the profit witnessed a nearly 20% decline on a sequential basis, falling from Rs 71 crore in Q4 FY26.
Strategic Partnership
In a separate announcement, CarTrade Tech revealed a partnership with Spinny aimed at enhancing the experience of buying and selling used cars on CarWale and OLX India. This collaboration allows users to access Spinny’s quality-assured used-car listings, with CarTrade employing its proprietary VAYA AI technology to connect consumers with relevant options in real time.
