iPhone 17e vs Pixel 10a: Key Differences Explained

iPhone 17e was unveiled by Apple on March 2, featuring notable enhancements in terms of performance, charging, and durability. This smartphone competes directly with the newly launched Google Pixel 10a.

The choice between Apple and Google has always presented challenges, particularly as both mobile phones target consumers with budget considerations. So which device truly stands out, iPhone 17e or Pixel 10a? Below are five essential differences to assist in making a decision.

Price: Pixel 10a is more affordable while iPhone 17e provides greater storage options

When deciding which model to purchase, specifications and features are crucial; however, price significantly influences the choice as well. The Google Pixel 10a has a starting price of Rs 49,999 for the 256GB storage option.

In comparison, the Apple iPhone 17e begins at Rs 64,900 for the 256GB variant. Despite the substantial price difference, the iPhone 17e also offers a 512GB option for those seeking additional storage.

Performance: A19 chip from Apple versus Tensor G4 from Google

The power behind the Apple iPhone 17e is the latest A19 chip, crafted on a 3nm process, which is also found in the flagship iPhone 17. Conversely, Google has equipped the Pixel 10a with the older Tensor G4 processor, previously utilised in last year’s Pixel 9a model.

This indicates that, in terms of performance, the iPhone 17e may provide superior capabilities.

Display: Google’s smooth interface against Apple’s higher resolution

The iPhone 17e showcases a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display featuring OLED technology, boasting a resolution of 2532 x 1170 pixels. However, it maintains a 60Hz refresh rate.

In contrast, the Google Pixel 10a houses a slightly larger 6.3-inch Actua display with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels, providing a smoother experience with its 120Hz refresh rate.

Camera: Single vs dual lens setup

The camera system within the Apple iPhone 17e is a single-lens setup, comprising a 48MP Fusion sensor that is capable of optical-level zoom up to 2x.

On the flip side, the Pixel 10a incorporates a dual-camera arrangement that features a 48MP main lens alongside a 13MP ultra-wide lens. This extra lens can deliver ultra-wide views, enhanced depth capture, and greater flexibility for photography enthusiasts.

Charging: MagSafe compatibility versus larger battery capacity

Apple has finally addressed a significant concern with its E series smartphones by introducing MagSafe charging with the iPhone 17e. This model now supports MagSafe and 15W Qi2 wireless charging for the first time in the entry-level range. Reports suggest the battery size for this phone to be around 4,000mAh.

On the other hand, the Google Pixel 10a is equipped with a 5100mAh battery that supports a slightly quicker 30W wired charging.
