As the situation in the Middle East intensifies, Apple has announced the temporary suspension of its operations in the United Arab Emirates over the weekend. The technology leader has reportedly closed its corporate offices and five retail outlets located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Al Ain. This temporary suspension began on February 28 as a precautionary measure.
Apple has indicated that all operations, encompassing both corporate locations and retail stores, will remain closed until at least March 3, 2026. This decision follows the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation issuing a new advisory amidst the rising tensions in the Middle East due to recent strikes by the U.S. and Israel on Iran.
The governmental body conveyed that “businesses within the private sector must take appropriate actions to ensure that employees are not present in open areas, apart from crucial roles necessitating physical presence, and to facilitate remote working arrangements wherever feasible.”
This advisory is set to be active from March 1 to March 3. Consequently, it has been reported that employees will resume remote work until the situation stabilises.

While the government has suggested a provisional date for these precautions, the duration will likely be extended depending on how the regional landscape develops in the coming days. The private sector is now encouraged to remain on standby until conditions for normal operations are confirmed.
