In more straightforward terms, the report indicates that even highly skilled employees might find it challenging to harness AI effectively if the work environment does not foster experimentation or encourage the adoption of AI. Often, employees do not receive the time and freedom necessary to apply their skills or experiment with AI tools.

The report states that “Organisational factors like culture, manager support and talent practices account for more than 2X the AI impact of individual factors like mindset and behaviour.”

The report highlights the significance of a culture that regards AI as a competitive edge and stimulates experimentation. Merely 13% of employees feel incentivised or rewarded for attempting to rethink workflows using AI.

Conversely, the report reveals that AI is empowering employees to achieve more. More than 58% of AI users assert that their output has improved significantly compared to a year ago. Additionally, the study indicates that human skills are becoming increasingly vital for validating and enhancing AI-generated content and for meticulously evaluating information for accuracy.

Consequently, the focus is now shifting towards the challenge of moving from experimentation to execution. The successful adoption of AI may largely depend on how swiftly leaders incorporate it into existing workflows.
