Google has officially recognised these problems and introduced a repair program that offers complimentary display repairs for affected users. Identifying Defects in Google Pixel 9 Pro

Google has confirmed that specific units of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are experiencing display defects. The company identified that some models may exhibit a vertical line from the bottom to the top of the screen, along with screen flickering. Consequently, these devices qualify for the extended repair program. It’s important to note that devices with cracked displays or other forms of display damage are excluded from this repair initiative.

Repair Program Launch and Process

The repair program officially began on December 8, 2025. Users need to visit Google walk-in centres, authorised partners, or use online repair services to initiate a display replacement. Google emphasised that once the repair is completed, the device will be covered by a 90-day warranty.

Extended Warranty for Pixel 9 Pro Fold

In addition to the repair program for the Pixel 9 Pro, Google has announced an extended warranty for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold models.
