OTT Platforms Advised to Remove Pakistani Content

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has released a directive targeting all streaming and OTT platforms in India regarding content from Pakistan.

Government Notice to OTT Platforms

The official notice from the government states: “For the sake of national security, all OTT platforms, media streaming platforms and intermediaries functioning in India are instructed to cease the distribution of web series, films, songs, podcasts and any other streaming media content originating from Pakistan immediately.”

Impact on Streaming Media

This directive implies that all web-based content, including shows, music, and more from Pakistan, is expected to be removed from all OTT platforms in India. This includes popular services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, JioCinema, among others.

(This is an evolving story. Additional details will be shared as they become available.)
