Kia India has introduced its latest premium electric vehicle, the Kia EV6, priced at INR 65.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). The upgraded version comes in a single GT Line model featuring all-wheel drive (AWD), promising a remarkable driving experience through advanced features, enhanced safety measures, and an expanded range, solidifying its position in India’s electric vehicle sector.

Power and Performance of the New Kia EV6

The new Kia EV6 is equipped with a cutting-edge 84-kWh battery pack, offering an extraordinary range of 663 km (ARAI MIDC Full) on one full charge. Built on Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), this electric vehicle delivers 325 PS of power and 605 Nm of torque, ensuring an exhilarating driving experience. Additionally, it features ultra-fast charging capabilities, with a recharge from 10% to 80% achievable in just 18 minutes using a 350kW charger.

Design Enhancements in the Kia EV6

Kia has revitalised the aesthetics of the EV6, introducing 15 design updates, particularly an assertive front-end, which draws inspiration from the brand’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. Notable features include a Star Map Graphic Connected DRL with Sequential Indicators and stylish 48.74cm (19-inch) Aerodynamic glossy-finish alloy wheels. Inside, the EV6 retains its luxurious essence, showcasing a double D-cut steering wheel equipped with hands-on detection technology, paired with a dual 31.2 cm (12.3-inch) panoramic curved display for an integrated digital experience.

Innovative Technology in the Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 also incorporates progressive technology via Kia Connect 2.0, which features over-the-air (OTA) software updates for 34 ECU controllers, effectively reducing the necessity for service centre appointments. The enhanced Digital Key 2.0, powered by Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, allows users to unlock, start, and share their vehicles using a compatible smartphone, making it convenient even when the phone is tucked away in a pocket or bag. The EV6 encompasses over 100 connected features aimed at elevating the overall driving journey.

Safety Features of the New Kia EV6

Safety remains a top priority in the latest iteration of the Kia EV6, featuring the advanced ADAS 2.0 package that includes 27 sophisticated safety characteristics. New autonomous functions consist of FCA 2.0 – Junction Turning, FCA 2.0 – Junction Crossing, FCA 2.0 – Lane Change Assist, FCA 2.0 – Evasive Steering Assist, and LFA 2.0 – Lane Follow Assist. These advanced features significantly improve vehicle control during lane changes, emergency manoeuvres, and maintaining lane integrity, ensuring a safe driving environment.
