Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses Hit Pause on Global Launch
In September 2025, Meta introduced its innovative Ray-Ban Display glasses, which quickly became popular due to their advanced features. Now, while the company is presenting its AI display innovations at CES 2026, a decision has been made to halt the global availability of the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. Meta attributes this pause to “unprecedented demand and limited inventory” in the United States.
Global Launch of Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses
According to a blog post from Meta, the global release of the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses has been put on hold. Initially, the company intended to make the smart glasses available in the UK, France, Italy, and Canada starting in 2026. However, this rollout has been delayed due to unexpectedly high demand in the US market and restricted stock levels.
Meta’s Statement on International Expansion
Meta expressed that they have decided to pause their anticipated international expansion. The company noted that they will concentrate on fulfilling existing orders in the US while reassessing their strategy for international availability. It was shared that there has been an overwhelming amount of interest in the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, with the waitlist extending into 2026.
New Features for Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses
Alongside the announcement regarding the delay in global availability, Meta revealed several new features set to enhance the AI glasses experience. One of the notable features includes a teleprompter capability, which allows users to access notes or scripts directly on the display of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses. This functionality will be beneficial during live events or when recording reels, videos, and more. Additionally, the company announced an expanded rollout of the pedestrian navigation feature within the US.
