Noida Protests: Essential Navigation Tips and Traffic Updates

Noida protests have significantly disrupted traffic throughout the city, leading to extensive congestion on Monday. Key areas experiencing heavy traffic include Sector 62 and the entry points from Delhi to Noida, along with roads connecting various business and industrial sectors.

If commuting through these routes, it is recommended to utilise real-time navigation applications to locate alternative paths, evade traffic, and arrive at destinations promptly.

Three Navigation Apps to Use Amidst Noida Protests

Mappls by MapmyIndia

Mappls, developed by MapmyIndia, is India’s own navigation solution. Being home-grown, it offers highly accurate and localised Indian maps. It boasts features like real-time traffic updates and lane guidance, making it exceptionally useful during events like protests. The app also alerts users about speed breakers, potholes, sharp turns, and speed cameras.

Google Maps

Google Maps is a popular choice for many smartphone users, making it an excellent option during the protests in Noida. This app features live traffic overlays, various route choices, and public transport integration, assisting users in bypassing blocked or congested paths, especially when protest routes change suddenly.

NaviMaps

Another reliable navigation option is NaviMaps, which provides an immersive 3D navigation experience. Powered by MapmyIndia, it is ideal for Indian commuters and those navigating during protests. NaviMaps also allows users to pre-download maps of Noida and Delhi-NCR, offering turn-by-turn guidance without requiring an internet connection.

Latest Traffic Advisory: Avoid These Routes

According to the most recent traffic advisory, commuters should steer clear of the following stretches to minimise delays:

Sector 62 Cluster

The areas around Fortis Hospital, from the Sector 62 Roundabout to the NIB Police Post, including the roads leading to the Sector 59 Metro station, are heavily congested.

Border Points

The Chilla Border is facing significant traffic, with vehicles being redirected towards the DND Flyway.

Industrial Zones

Roads around the Hosiery Complex in Phase 2, the Sector 60 Underpass, and the Model Town Circle are experiencing severe congestion.

Major Links

The entry points to NH-9 (formerly NH-24) near protest sites and Rajnigandha Chowk during peak hours are areas to avoid.
