Key Game Releases Featuring DLSS 4
Significant upcoming releases including Borderlands 4, Hell is Us, and Fate Trigger will feature DLSS 4 at launch. Notably, Resident Evil Requiem and Directive 8020 are expected to offer support for path tracing, while other highly awaited games like Phantom Blade Zero, PRAGMATA, and CINDER CITY will integrate ray tracing technology.
Updates to GeForce RTX 50 Series
NVIDIA announced enhancements related to its GeForce RTX 50 Series line-up, including a special Borderlands 4 bundle and a major update to the NVIDIA app, tailored for users of RTX GPUs.
Industry Insights from NVIDIA
Matt Wuebbling, the Vice President of Global GeForce Marketing at NVIDIA, emphasized the importance of DLSS 4 and path tracing, stating that they have transcended experimental phases to become essential components of contemporary PC gaming. Developers are utilising AI-driven rendering techniques to produce breathtaking visuals and substantial performance improvements, thus enabling gamers worldwide to access state-of-the-art real-time graphics.
Expansion of DLSS 4
Initially launched with the RTX 50 Series earlier this year, DLSS 4 leverages Multi Frame Generation technology, allowing the creation of up to three frames for every standard rendered frame. This results in performance enhancements of up to eight times compared to traditional rendering methods. The technology also features DLSS Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, and NVIDIA Reflex, contributing to a seamless and responsive gameplay experience.
New Games Supporting DLSS 4
A variety of games receiving DLSS 4 support were unveiled at Gamescom, including Black State, Cronos: The New Dawn, Honeycomb: The World Beyond, Lost Soul Aside, and The Outer Worlds 2. Many of these exciting titles will also be accessible through the GeForce NOW cloud gaming platform.
Features in the NVIDIA App
The NVIDIA app, designed to deliver driver updates and performance optimisation tools, is undergoing significant upgrades. New features include global DLSS settings for simpler adjustments across multiple games, enhancements to Project G-Assist, NVIDIA’s AI assistant, and the revival of legacy 3D settings for older titles. The beta update was launched on 19 August, with a full rollout anticipated in the following week.
Generative AI and Modding Innovations
NVIDIA also highlighted advancements in its ACE suite of generative AI tools tailored for voice-driven gaming experiences, now implemented in Iconic Interactive’s forthcoming title, The Oversight Bureau. Furthermore, RTX Remix, NVIDIA’s open-source modding platform for game remastering, is expanding with new community-developed plugins, broader compatibility, and a particle system designed to enhance visual effects for over 160 classic games.
