Introducing the OnePlus 13T: All You Need to Know

OnePlus is set to announce its latest compact flagship, the OnePlus 13T, with a confirmed launch date of 24 April in China. This device, which has been the subject of numerous leaks over the past few weeks, is also now available for pre-reservation on the company’s official Chinese website. A series of teasers, renders, and leaked benchmark results have unveiled much about the features of this phone.

A Striking New Design

The OnePlus 13T presents a significant change with its newly designed rear camera module, moving away from the brand’s historical design language. Shared images and videos indicate that the smartphone will come in Cloud Ink Black, Morning Mist Grey, and Powder Pink hues. The vertically aligned dual camera island will be framed in metal, subtly raised from the rear panel, and is reminiscent of the Pixel Fold’s design.

Louis Lee, the President of OnePlus China, confirmed that the Chinese version will weigh only 185g while housing a battery exceeding 6000mAh in capacity.

Farewell to the Alert Slider, Welcome the Shortcut Key

A noticeable change is the substitution of OnePlus’s classic Alert Slider with a new Shortcut Key, a programmable side button akin to Apple’s Action Button. This addition enables users to switch sound modes or set custom shortcuts, providing enhanced flexibility without compromising on functionality.

Display, Performance, and Specifications

The OnePlus 13T features a flat 6.32″ LTPO OLED display that boasts a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, paired with narrow bezels.

The device has also been seen on AnTuTu with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset alongside 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Expected connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and even an IR blaster.

Camera and Battery Features

Concerning photography, the OnePlus 13T will have a dual camera configuration, consisting of a 50MP Sony LYT700 primary camera and a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom capabilities. On the front, a 32MP selfie camera is anticipated. While the dual-camera system may appear less impressive compared to some triple-camera alternatives, it could help maintain a more affordable price point for the device.

In terms of charging capabilities, the OnePlus 13T is expected to excel with support for 80W fast wired charging. However, wireless charging options seem to be absent, at least based on current information available.

Software and Launch Details

This device is slated to operate on ColorOS 15 in China, with a probable shift to OxygenOS 15 for global releases, built on Android 15. The official launch date remains set for April 24 in China.
