Customised Cooling for Smart Homes with Samsung India
Samsung India recently unveiled a groundbreaking feature called Customised Cooling, powered by SmartThings, aimed at revolutionising the cooling experience in Indian households. This feature is embedded within the 2025 Bespoke AI WindFree air conditioners and connects smart ACs with certified smart fans and switches, allowing the creation of an automated cooling atmosphere that adjusts intelligently while conserving power.
The introduction of this feature comes at a significant moment, considering the rising electricity demand in India, largely driven by the increased use of air conditioning systems. A study conducted by Samsung indicated that nearly fifty percent of Indian consumers depend on a mix of air conditioners and fans for comfort, frequently altering settings throughout the night. This practice not only interrupts sleep but also adds to electricity expenses.
Samsung India’s Vice President for Digital Appliances, Ghufran Alam, stated that the company envisions comfort as a holistic experience that goes beyond mere cooling. He elaborated that Indian consumers often switch between ACs and fans for comfort, particularly at night. With Customised Cooling, Samsung aims to simplify this process by allowing the 2025 Bespoke AI air conditioners to integrate effortlessly with SmartThings-certified fans and switches. This innovation provides users with peace of mind, enhances energy efficiency, and ensures uninterrupted relaxation.
He also highlighted that, while the feature is fine-tuned for optimising sleep, it equally enhances daytime comfort without sacrificing energy savings.
The innovative system utilises the SmartThings ecosystem to continuously monitor and react to changes in room temperature. This intelligent setup effortlessly adjusts both AC and fan settings, ensuring optimal temperature without requiring user input. The feature is designed to work with Works with SmartThings (WWST) certified smart fans and switches, and it integrates with the SmartThings Energy Service to deliver insights geared towards sustainability.
Samsung emphasises that the Customised Cooling feature not only enhances the sleep experience but is equally beneficial during the day, maintaining a comfortable living environment without escalating energy costs. Users can enjoy effortless cooling, reduced energy consumption, and seamless device automation, all easily managed through a single application interface.
