Samsung is working on expanding its foldable device range, introducing two eagerly awaited smartphones: the Galaxy Z Flip FE and the tri-fold device potentially named Galaxy G Fold. These groundbreaking devices are anticipated to be launched in late 2025, as noted in recent reports.
Galaxy Z Flip FE: Budget-Friendly Foldable Innovation
The Galaxy Z Flip FE aims to provide a more budget-friendly option compared to Samsung’s premium Z Flip series. Initially expected to make its debut shortly after the Galaxy Z Flip 7, a recent article in the South Korean outlet, The Bell, highlights a postponement, now indicating a scheduled release for Q4 2025.
Although the precise specifications are yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated that the Flip FE will have a slightly increased thickness compared to the standard Z Flip 7, which maintains a sleek 6.9mm design. Speculations suggest that the FE model will incorporate a 3.4-inch external display, while the interior may boast a 6.7-inch foldable AMOLED screen.
Furthermore, this model is believed to be equipped with the same 4000mAh battery featured in the Z Flip 6, powered by the Exynos 2400e processor, which is a mildly scaled-back variant of the chip used in the Galaxy S24 series.
Galaxy G Fold: A Tri-Fold Revolution in the Making
Samsung is also gearing up to introduce its tri-fold gadget, which might be titled the Galaxy G Fold. This device is expected to offer a larger display than any previous Samsung foldable, sporting a generous 9.96-inch screen when fully opened, thus providing a near-tablet experience. A compact 6.54-inch portion of the display will remain usable when the device is folded.
The Galaxy G Fold is anticipated to have a weight of just beneath 300 grams, comparable to Huawei’s Mate XT, which was the first commercially available tri-fold device released last year. Nonetheless, the G Fold will not possess a slim profile, as its thickness is expected to increase due to the inward folding mechanism.
Considering its premium features and design, the Galaxy G Fold is likely to bear a higher price tag than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Regarding its availability, earlier reports from 9to5Google hinted at a release in Q3 2025, but recent updates suggest that only a preview of the device may occur in Q3 2025, with a full launch likely postponed to early 2026.
