Retailing between ₹10,000-₹15,000, this smartphone underscores Samsung’s commitment to making high-tech features accessible to Generation Z.

Director’s Insight on the Galaxy M17 5G

Akshay S Rao, Director of MX Business at Samsung India, stated that meaningful innovation is centred on delivering technology that empowers users to create change. The Galaxy M17 5G advances the M series philosophy of Monster innovations by incorporating OIS-enabled ‘No Shake Camera’ into the ₹10,000–₹15,000 price range. It features enhanced durability, AI capabilities, and a sleek design to meet the expectations of the Gen Z demographic.

Camera and Design Features of Galaxy M17 5G

The Galaxy M17 5G comes equipped with a 50MP triple-camera system with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), enabling users to take crisp and blur-free photos as well as videos. The triple-lens setup offers an Ultra-Wide lens and a Macro lens, while the front features a 13MP high-resolution selfie camera.

With a thickness of only 7.5mm, the M17 5G boasts an elegant design enhanced by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which contributes to its durability. The phone is also rated IP54 for dust and splash resistance and is available in two colours: Moonlight Silver and Sapphire Black.

Smart Features and User Experience

Samsung has integrated Circle to Search with Google in the Galaxy M17 5G, allowing users to easily search for information by circling objects or text on the screen. Additionally, it features Gemini Live, which facilitates real-time, AI-enhanced visual interactions. The device runs on Android 15 and One UI 7, offering a customisable and user-friendly experience.

Display and Performance

The smartphone features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 1100 nits, delivering stunning visuals. Powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1330 processor, built on 6nm technology, it ensures efficient multitasking capabilities. The device is backed by a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging, allowing for extended usage and swift charging times.

Commitment to Updates and Security

Samsung promises an impressive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the Galaxy M17 5G. It includes Samsung Knox Vault for hardware-level security and introduces a new On-device Voice Mail feature, enabling callers to leave messages when calls are missed. Additional features include Voice Focus for improved audio clarity and Samsung Wallet with Tap & Pay for seamless digital transactions.

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy M17 5G starts at ₹11,999 for the 4GB + 128GB configuration, ₹13,499 for the 6GB + 128GB version, and ₹14,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. Customers can also take advantage of up to three months of no-cost EMI options through leading banks and NBFCs.
