Samsung has officially introduced its eagerly awaited privacy screen feature designed for forthcoming Galaxy devices. This innovative screen will reportedly safeguard the display from what is commonly referred to as “shoulder surfing,” where someone attempts to view another person’s screen. It is anticipated that Samsung will launch this privacy screen technology alongside the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026.

Functionality of Samsung’s Privacy Screen Feature

The newly revealed privacy layer from Samsung will secure phones from the issue of shoulder surfing. This advanced privacy screen is said to appear transparent only to the user positioned directly in front of it. Others will be unable to view the screen because of this cutting-edge privacy solution. This feature represents five years of dedicated engineering, with user privacy being a fundamental focus.

According to a press release from the South Korean company, the protection offered will allow individuals to read messages or input passwords during a crowded commute without worrying about potential onlookers. While the company has confirmed that this protective screen will appear in upcoming devices, it has not disclosed specific model names.

Customisation and Features

Samsung highlights that users will have the capability to tailor the privacy screen feature for selected applications such as banking, email, or messaging platforms. Additionally, users can modify various levels of visibility control and select specific areas of the screen for protection, including notification pop-ups.

The privacy function also possesses the ability to automatically shield the display when users are entering sensitive data, such as passwords, PINs, or biometric authentication screens.

Expected Launch with Galaxy S26 Series

It is expected that Samsung will unveil the new privacy screen feature with the Galaxy S26 series, which is likely to consist of three models: the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, all projected to launch in February 2026. However, the company has yet to announce the official launch or event date.
