iQOO Neo 10R: The Gaming Phone Shaped by Gamers
The iQOO Neo 10R is not merely another gaming smartphone; it has been developed in partnership with India’s leading esports professionals. iQOO collaborated with prominent gamers, including Mortal and Scout, to refine its latest device, ensuring it satisfies the demands of competitive gaming. In a brief exchange with Nipun Marya, the CEO of iQOO India, the discussion centred around how feedback from gamers influenced the Neo 10R, the progression of mobile gaming, and iQOO’s contributions to the sector.
A Gamer’s Input, A Gamer’s Phone
Marya stated that the company has maintained a close partnership with these gamers over an extended period. He detailed, “At every stage of development, from hardware to software, their feedback was taken into serious consideration.”
He pinpointed five critical aspects where their contributions were integrated directly:
- Flagship Processor at a Mid-Range Price: “Gamers expressed that performance should never be compromised. We aimed to integrate an 8-series Snapdragon processor within this price range, and we accomplished that.”
- Lightweight Yet Powerful Build: “Long gaming sessions require comfort. The Neo 10R houses a 6400mAh battery while retaining a thickness of under 8mm, making it both portable and enduring.”
- Bypass Charging: “This was a highly sought-after feature. It enables gamers to play while charging without overheating the device, a capability first introduced with the iQOO 30.”
- Advanced Cooling System: “For a gaming phone, maintaining high performance is paramount. We prioritised heat dissipation to ensure the phone remains cool during extended gaming sessions.”
- Enhanced Haptics and Touch Response: “Precision is a must for gamers. We incorporated 300Hz touch sampling and an X-axis linear motor to provide immersive feedback, thus ensuring a more interactive and tactile gaming experience.”
The gamers involved in the creation expressed similar sentiments. Naman “Mortal” Mathur, a renowned figure in India’s esports landscape, remarked, “Collaborating with iQOO presents an exhilarating opportunity to design devices that genuinely address gamers’ requirements. I am eager to lend my insights to craft smartphones that enhance the mobile gaming environment.”
Tanmay “Scout” Singh, another elite esports contender, mentioned, “Participating in this initiative with iQOO allows us to have a direct impact on the technologies we rely on daily. I am keen to ensure that iQOO devices maintain the high benchmarks necessary for competitive gaming.”
The Future of Gaming and iQOO’s Role
Marya expresses optimism regarding the growth trajectory of gaming within India. He stated, “The gaming sector is projected to continue expanding, potentially at an even swifter pace than before.” Yet, he recognises that iQOO is merely one segment of the broader ecosystem.
“Our mission,” he elaborated, “is to tackle significant challenges: First, by delivering affordable, high-performance gaming devices. Second, by creating platforms like our ‘Campus Kaari’ initiative to nurture aspiring esports players. Third, by staying receptive to gamers and integrating their necessities into our products.”
