CMF Launches CMF Headphone Pro: Over-Ear Wireless Headphones
CMF, the sub-brand of Nothing, has unveiled its premiere model of over-ear wireless headphones, known as the CMF Headphone Pro. This launch broadens CMF’s audio range with a more conventional design, distinct from Nothing’s transparent style, while still prioritising personalization.
Design and Customisation of CMF Headphone Pro
The CMF Headphone Pro comes in Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Light Green colour options, and features additional interchangeable ear cushions in Light Green and Orange. These separate cushions are available for purchase, enabling users to personalize both the aesthetics and comfort of their listening experience.
Audio Specifications
The headphones are equipped with 40mm dynamic drivers, including nickel-plated diaphragms, a 16.5mm copper voice coil, and a dual-chamber design. They are certified for Hi-Res Audio Wireless, support the LDAC codec, and incorporate Audiodo’s Personal Sound technology. This innovative feature allows users to establish a tailored sound profile after completing a brief calibration test.
Active Noise Cancellation Features
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) on the CMF Headphone Pro is designed to diminish ambient noise by up to 40dB, with adaptive hybrid ANC automatically adjusting levels based on the surrounding environment. A transparency mode is also included for added versatility.
Hardware Controls
Hardware controls on the device include a multifunctional roller dial for adjusting volume and playback, an Energy Slider for balancing bass or treble, and a programmable button for swift access to features like Spatial Audio or voice assistants. Unlike touch controls, these physical interactions enhance user experience. Static Spatial Audio provides options for Cinema and Concert modes, effectively modifying soundstage depth and clarity.
Battery Life and Charging
The battery performance is a notable feature, with CMF claiming that users can enjoy up to 100 hours of playback without ANC and approximately 50 hours with ANC activated. These headphones support USB-C fast charging, offering around five hours of playback from just a five-minute charge, while a full charge is expected to take around two hours.
Pricing and Availability
The CMF Headphone Pro is priced at $99 in the US, €99 in Europe, and £79 in the UK. Sales in the UK and EU have commenced through the Nothing website and selected partners, while availability in the US is scheduled to start on 7 October. Currently, there is no information available regarding a launch in India.
