Temple: Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Addresses Concerns Over Health-Tech Device
Last week, Temple, an innovative health-tech device developed by Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, garnered significant attention for its unusual design. The device has sparked discussions on social media, with influencers and medical professionals from AIIMS expressing their worries about “bio-hacking” devices. To provide clarity on the matter, Goyal has shared a statement on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that Temple is not currently available for purchase as it remains a work-in-progress for a future public launch.
Status of Temple
In his post on X, Goyal addressed the concerns raised by doctors and influencers, stating that no public commercial announcements have been made regarding Temple as of yet. He noted that official device benchmarking data has not been released either. Goyal stressed that the Temple project is still under development, with a public preview potentially months away if a commercial release is ever pursued.
Public Perception and Safety
Goyal remarked on the situation, finding it amusing that individuals on the internet are advising others against buying a device that has yet to undergo complete testing and validation. He mentioned that Temple is still in a conversational phase and is not yet ready for launch. Moreover, he assured that detailed information regarding the scientific foundation of Temple will be provided “if and when we decide to sell.” He emphasized that scepticism is appreciated but should be expressed at the appropriate time.
Future of Temple
As it stands, Temple is an intriguing project for Goyal, operating under Continue Research. The anticipation now lies with how this health-tech wearable evolves and if it will support Goyal’s anticipated Gravity Ageing Hypothesis theory in the future.
