Gurmeet Chadha Advocates for Middle Class and Small Business Empowerment

Gurmeet Chadha, who serves as the Managing Partner and CIO at Compcircle, asserts that governments that focus on the middle class and small business owners are likely to experience significant economic and political advantages.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Chadha shared the belief that supporting the middle class and small businesses will yield economic and subsequently political rewards. He stated that these groups are the backbone of the nation and emphasised that positive economic policies often lead to beneficial political outcomes. His statement received broad enthusiasm online.

If you show faith in the middle class and small businessmen, you will be rewarded economically and eventually politically. They are the backbone of the nation. Good economics is never bad politics.

This comment came in the context of the BJP’s recent triumph in the Delhi assembly elections, which celebrated the party’s return to power in the capital after a 27-year absence. BJP garnered 48 seats, whereas the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured only 22 seats out of the 70-member assembly.

Chadha’s insight resonated deeply with many individuals, highlighting the important link between effective economic strategies and political victories.

Several users expressed agreement with Chadha’s perspective. One individual remarked that the recent changes in the tax regime represented a brilliant strategy, evidenced by the outcome of the Delhi elections. They anticipated a positive market response on Monday as well.

Another user affirmed the importance of the middle class and small entrepreneurs in fostering economic growth, innovation, and prosperity. A flourishing middle class contributes to a stronger nation, and governance that supports these individuals is essential for gaining public trust.

A third commenter suggested that political parties should prioritise this demographic to expand their support base by addressing issues of poverty.
