The court stated that “the impugned statements are…defamatory and tarnish the professional reputation of ANI.” ANI has sought an apology along with ₹2 crore (approximately $240,000) in compensation from Wikimedia, as reported by Reuters. According to two insiders familiar with the situation, Wikimedia has subsequently lodged an appeal against this ruling and requested a session before a larger panel of the same court.
